Northern Vegan Festival 2016

In collaboration with Viva!

Saturday 23rd April 2016
10am – 6pm
Admission £3 (under 16 free)

After a successful event on October 17, which over 3500 people came to, the Festival returns on April 23rd 2016 for a bigger event with more space

The Festival will run from 10am until 6pm at each venue with the exception of the Thirsty Scholar where it will run from noon until 3am.

The festival is fully volunteer run and all proceeds will go to animal welfare charities, as will the proceeds from our partner festival, The Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival held on 18th June 2016 at Leeds Town Hall, Leeds City centre.

Please note that all main venues and rooms are fully accessible to people in wheelchairs via lifts, but at the Gullivers venue, people in wheelchairs will need to ask staff to contact Veggie Pets upstairs where they will bring some vegan cat food samples down as this venue is not wheelchair accessible

Once again we will be using Sachas Hotel, Tib Street, Manchester, M4 1SH, where there will be 95 stalls, including a cafe area in the USA Suite on the ground floor and 20 more stalls upstairs in the Roosevelt and Jefferson Rooms including a raw food fair and a 5 stall vegan organic farmers market (conventional organic agriculture uses bone meal, animal blood, and ground up fish as fertiliser). There will be a small free food fair in the Kennedy Room and talks in the Cromptons Bar downstairs.

Venue 2 is the Methodist Church Central Hall, Oldham Street, Manchester, M1 1JQ which is across the road from the back of the USA Suite in Sachas. At this venue there will be 81 stalls in the various rooms on the 1st floor, talks,  films and cookery demos in the Lounge on the 1st floor and films in Room 21 on the 2nd floor.

Venue 3 is the back room of the Castle Hotel at 66, Oldham Street, M4 1LE, where there will be vegan dog food tasting with Europe's largest seller of vegan pet food Veggie Pets (http://www.veggiepets.com/) and in the evening live music from vegan musicians Meredith Baker (8pm-9pm), Sarah de Warren (9pm-10pm), and Gareth Evans (10pm-11pm).

Venue 4 is the upstairs room of Gullivers at 109, Oldham Street, M4 1LW, where there will be vegan cat food tasting with Veggie Pets (please note that the samples are to take away only, cats will not be allowed inside the venue due to the trauma of travel).

Venue 5 is 15 minutes walk away, the Thirsty Scholar vegetarian/vegan pub at 50, New Wakefield Street, Manchester, M1 5NP where there will be a vegan beer, wine and cider festival.
